Strength sport is my life blood, through and through.

I’ve gained a greater sense of fulfillment in developing my physical potential, than in nearly any other aspect of my life. Working hard to grow stronger has taught me innumerable life lessons I apply every day, in situations vastly unrelated to  bars and plates. I’ve learned the magnitude of character I possess, and the level of success I can achieve both personally and professionally, with an unwavering desire to arrive at my destination regardless of the obstacles in my path.   

While I’ll always strive to further improve my own physical and mental fortitude, my journey doesn’t finish there. My enduring passion for all things strong is split right down the middle between personal development, and the development of others. A love for exchanging knowledge in both directions has led to my decision to seek a clientele willing to trust my ideas and put the work in. While I’ll never admit to being an all-knowing authority of strength training methodology or sports nutrition, my exposure to many such experts has left me the opportunity to pass a great deal of knowledge forward. After all, even those in a position to teach, should never close the door to learning more about their trade. Nor will I, and nor will I wait indefinitely for when I think I know everything. It’ll never come.

ProgramS

Training

Programming is very feedback-based, especially  for lifters with varying or highly demanding work schedules.  Adaptability is key to long term success.  With month to month training, we communicate at least once per week.  A typical feedback email contains the workout week’s results entered into a custom spreadsheet, video footage, questions and comments.  My commitment is always to work as hard as you do.  At a minimum, I will match your attention to detail and provide critique, and adjustments when needed to ensure consistent progress.

Nutrition

Monthly nutrition is entirely feedback-based, with weekly adjustments as needed.  As with training, adaptability is my priority.  I realize not everyone carries a refrigerator to their job site, and can stop to eat meals in two-hour intervals.  Regardless of circumstance, there’s a plan we can fit to match your schedule.

Training plans are required to enroll in nutrition coaching.  Without oversight into how you spend your calories in the weight room, I can’t reliably pave the road to your goals.

TRAINING & NUTRITION

For the highest level of success achievable, training and nutrition should be managed in unison.  Fully adaptable, all encompassing coaching includes everything noted in training and nutrition.

How do you build training?
I use block periodization, following several weeks of progressive overload, followed by a short deload. Each block (4-5 weeks) tackles a single point of focus, be it strength, hypertrophy, muscle endurance, or work capacity. Multiple blocks of training are placed in sequence to allow the progress from one block, to set the stage for success in the next block.
How do you build diet?
This is good old fashioned macronutrient counting, tailored to your needs. There is no exact ratio of fat, protein and carbohydrates to yield the best success rates. I’ll get you moving toward your goals by assigning achievable numbers to your diet.
What do you need from me?

What equipment do I need?

You don’t require a commercial gym membership to train under my flag, but you will require a basic assortment of training tools.  Bars, plates, power rack, flat bench, and a set of rubber bands constitute the minimum equipment I look for.

My work/life schedule is extremely demanding. Can this still work for me?

It can.  Show me 30 minutes in the weight room, 4 times a week and I’ll show you to your goals.  I’ll work with any work schedule, any limitation, any time.

I’m struggling with motivation, and getting to the gym. Can you help me with this?

No I can’t.  My job here is to point the highly motivated, white knuckled lifter in the best direction for their effort.  If you currently lack the desire to put the needed work in, I recommend committing to yourself before you consider committing to me.

I pride myself on helping others find ways to achieve their health and fitness goals, despite difficult real-world limitations.  I frequently write that I  do not care about the perfect scenario in life, because it rarely presents itself.  My model of coaching is built around this philosophy.  I am continually learning new means of adapting to difficult situations.  From a coach’s position, I aim to help others improve their ability to find ways around hurdles, and never stop progressing from A to B.

All you require is the will to succeed, and the patience to execute a plan from start to finish.
